Checking security software

Security software (a.k.a. anti-virus programs) can sometimes slow down Maple's loading time with active scanning, or even block it entirely.

The easiest way to check whether or not your security software is causing issues with Maple is to (temporarily) disable it.  To ensure that you've disabled everything, you may want to use SecureSoftView to identify all security software on your system.  Some common programs to look for:
  • AVG
  • BitDefender
  • Kaspersky
  • Malwarebyes
  • McAfee
  • Net Nanny
  • Norton
If temporarily disabling your security programs helps, please add the Maple folder to your list of exceptions (whitelist).  Each program has its own way of managing these "safe lists", although some aren't accessible to users. However, many programs have some sort of setting that allows you to tell the program to not scan specific files or folders.

If you can't disable your security software, please try the remaining suggestions from the Maple does not start page.  If neither of those help, please contact support@maplesoft.com for further assistance.
