'Kernel connection has been lost' error in Maple

This error message suggests that the localhost connection between Maple and the kernel was properly established when Maple started, but then was broken. Likely, one the following is the culprit:

  • Your worksheet is corrupted;
  • Maple sensed that some loop will not terminate, some computation would be too demanding (for example 2^(2^32-1)), or Maple was consuming too much of the RAM or CPU during a calculation; or
  • Your installation of Maple is corrupted.

If Maple is fully up-to-date, and if rebuilding your worksheet results in the same error, you likely need to reinstall Maple from a fresh download link. Please contact support@maplesoft.com for this link.
